These tetra n-butyl ammonium hydroxide are largely used as an efficient catalyst for Knoevenagel condensation of aldehydes with acidic methylene compounds such as methyl and ethylcyanoacetate, malononitrile, and cyanoacetamide to afford substituted olefins. Apart from this, it is also used in paints and electronic industry & can be modified in compliance with clients' requirements
