we offer customers wood borer control services. Generally known as wood borer, it lives in tunnel made in the wooden furniture. Being air born tiny brownish insects, these continuously eat cellulose & starch material from wood (fine amorphous powder appears just below hole is the faucal matter). Large number of holes indicates heavy infestation in the furniture. Also called powder post beetles, their high numbers can turn inside of a piece of wood into a mass of powder. They can also cause significant damages to log homes, furniture, wood floors & structural timbers.



powder post beetles:
these are small (1/8 inch) and adult beetles are seldom seen
most of their life cycle is spent in grub stage eating wood
their life lasts between 1-10 years, which depends upon a number of factors like species of beetle, age of wood, type of wood infested, moisture content of wood & air temperature
infested wood is detected when adult beetles emerges from within the wood
the exit holes are the size of a pinhead and when the wood is tapped dust falls from these exit holes
depending on species, powder post beetles can infest both hardwood and softwoods
