Description
STANAMOL is a synthetic steroid with anabolic and andaronergeic properties. It increases collagen production and decreases antianabolic action of cortisone. It reduces fibrin depositon and also corrects the formation of kinin or kinin like factors which may be assosiated with edema and swelling seen in hereditary angioedema.
Indications
In hereditary angioedema, vascular manifestation of Bachet's syndrome.
Contraindications
Prostrate carcinoma, Carcinoma of male breast, porphyria, nephritis, diabetes I, severe liver disease, renal or cardiac disease or in pregnancy or lactation.
Precautions
In cardiac, hepatic or renal dysfunction, testicular atrophy and oedem, menstrual irregularities may alter LFT, thyroid function test and glucose tolerance tests.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, epigatric discomfort, liver damage, headache, skin rashes, virilsation, oedema, acne, glucose intoleration, hypercholestrolemia.
